The R-PHY Overview and Implementation instructor-led training course for release 1.8 presents the Distributed Access Architecture (DAA) RD1 Series Remote PHY solution. The course covers the benefits of Remote PHY, a hardware overview, Remote PHY protocols, hands-on lab for basic configuration of the Unified Remote PHY system, and Hybrid Chassis Mode considerations. Commands that are used to update, troubleshoot, and maintain the Remote PHY network are also covered and demonstrated. |
- Recognize how implementing Remote PHY is a phase of the decentralization and virtualization that will enable MSOs to handle ever-increasing bandwidth demands.
- Identify and describe key system components
- Review CableLabs defined protocols that are used in a Remote PHY system
- Understand the commands that are used to configure an E6000 CCAP Core with an RPD or Remote PHY Shelf,
- Review Security features, configuring event logging and performing a Secure Software Download
- Review commands that may be used to troubleshoot the system
Prerequisites: A basic understanding of CATV systems, RF plant fundamentals and data networking. The student should also have DOCSIS knowledge and prior working experience with the E6000 CER. E6D201: E6000 CER Operations instructor-led course and Understanding of DOCSIS (TEC202, and/or TEC301, and TEC302)
